I had the honor to conduct a 5-day Financial Literacy Camp with #montessorischool 一心書苑 in Yilan, Taiwan for a group of middle to high school students.
We, at GoodWhale — Investing Simplified , deeply believe that financial knowledge should be taught to children when they are very young, so that they can develop good financial habits from an early age, knowing how to allocate money, how to make money work for them, how to differentiate between needs and wants, how to save and invest, how to balance life and entertainment, and how to achieve their dreams.

We all know that in this fast-changing society, it’s more important to diversify risks. Most people think “don’t put eggs in one basket” is about investment, indeed, however, in today’s society, we have to diversify income as well.
#richdadpoordad has mentioned E.S.B.I. (Employment, Self-employment, Business, Investor), yes, it’s time to teach kids how to be all 4. Most importantly, how to enjoy being in all 4 areas.

Some people think that the best way to use money is to spend it, as this fully utilizes the value of money. However, I disagree with this view because it only satisfies temporary desires without planning for the future. We should manage our finances in such a way that we know money is a #tool to pursue and reach our dreams. Can our kids pursue their dreams and not pursue for money?

Yes, financial independence is crucial to build a strong foundation for them to fly. That’s why the learning of financial literacy should be a human right!
